another country? Teacher graduates of the The recruitment season for international schools starts much earlier than that in the U.S. Interested teachers should be in contact with schools between October and December of the prior year. EPCS has source materials which include directories, booklets, and newsletters, all intended to help in the search. Most interviewing for foreign employment is done at major international recruitment fairs around the country. A list of fairs can be found on the EPCS web site. The key, as in any job search, is organization, planning, and using the vast resources available at the University. A word of advice for beginning teachers is to secure a teaching job stateside before applying abroad, because most overseas employers would prefer to hire professionals with a few years of experience. In certain parts of the world, recent graduates can secure teaching positions. In addition, the Peace Corps might be an alternative for persons without experience.
