JOB SEARCH ACCOUNT: The Processing Charge covers the activation of your JOB SEARCH ACCOUNT with Education Portfolios and Career Services for one placement year, from September lst until September 30th of the following year. The current academic year processing charge is:

• Credential Services (K-12):
  • Current Students: $40.00
    Any student enrolled in the School of Education at the UW-Madison during the placement year (September lst to September 30th of the next year) is eligible for the student rate.
  • Alumni: $50.00 for full service, $30.00 electronic only
• Dossier Services (Higher Ed): $50.00

The maximum number of references to be circulated with your credential is 10. See Reference Policies for further details.

Inactive Account: Persons who have opened a job search account in past years, but have not paid the Processing Charge for the current year, may have credentials sent for $5.00 per credential. This includes uploading credential files to WECAN (for K-12 Teachers). Payment must accompany the request. This charge cannot be applied to the Processing Charge if you decide to open a JOB SEARCH ACCOUNT at a later date. (For Re-Activation Information, click here.)

Additional: When you have paid the Processing Charge and your account is current for this placement year, you may have up to a total of twenty (20) credentials sent to bona fide employers, per your credential release. Beyond 20, payment of $2.00 per credential must accompany each request from you. Further requests directly from employers will be honored at no additional charge.

• Credentials/Dossiers mailed to an employer outside the USA will count as TWO requests. If you have exceeded 20 credential requests, the charge is $4.00 each. If your file is "inactive", the charge is $7.00 each.

Sending additional references to an employer will count toward the 20 requests included with your Processing Charge. If you are already beyond the 20, there is a $2.00 charge for this service.

Requests for special handling of credentials have become more numerous. Since these requests are very time consuming, it is necessary to assess a $5.00 special handling charge for the following:

• Emergency telephone credential requests
• Express mail requests
• Deviation from sending the entire credential to an employer
• Hand-carry credentials

This charge must accompany the request. Please contact an EPCS consultant if you have any questions regarding the above.

If it is necessary for us to send a bill, a $2.00 billing charge is assessed. No provisions can be made, nor refunds given, for partial-year service.
