How Districts Hire	EPCS Services
Locating Position Vacancies Students and alumni report the following frequently used methods:
On-line postings	*EPCS On-line vacancies* include DPI vacancies, WECAN, & positions sent only to EPCS, including out-of-state, to recruit UW-Madison Grads
Teaching Job Fairs	WERF, WTID, and Website
District Websites	See K-12 link on Career Page
Word of Mouth & District Posting	EPCS provides direct position referral
Applying to Districts
Paper	*Consulting appointment at EPCS* for help filling out applications. When required by district paper applications may be included with EPCS mailed credentials. Note: E-Portfolio helps application completion.
On-line	Locate district on-applications through K-12 link on Career page and Consultation Help with WECAN.
Sending Credentials/Support Materials
Support materials include cover letter (sent by applicant), resume, transcript copies, professional education certificate or license, and letters of reference.	*Consulting Appointment* at EPCS to select or review reference letters, work on resume and cover letter plus Workshops. EPCS Internet Resources: resumes, letters
Very many districts will want them mailed as part of initial application	On-line request gets your EPCS credential out in the mail quickly. Credential includes resume, transcript copies, license or letter of cert and authentic recommendation letters.
Internet credentials especially for WECAN principals	Your credential at EPCS can be accessed directly on-line by employers. There is a special MMSD Access. EPCS can email your credential.
Using e-Portfolios In 2004, there was a strong up swing in employer access to portfolios. Requires authentic, thoughtful development and understanding of unique e-portfolio job search processes Using the e-Portfolio in the Job Search
